CM bowlers sweep Chillicothe, McClain

The Clinton-Massie bowling teams swept matches Tuesday from Chillicothe and McClain at Royal Z Lanes.

The CM boys finished with 2,341, easily outdistancing McClain (2,092) and Chillicothe (1,944). Aric France was on his mark with games of 247 and 236 for a 483 series.

“He is a great leader,” said CM coach Shonda Marburger.

The Massie boys are 3-1 overall and 2-0 against SCOL teams.

On the girls side, the Lady Falcons had 1,962 while the Lady Cavaliers had 1,832 and the Lady Tigers 1,232.

“The girls bowled their highest game total in the 3 years I have been coaching,” said Marburger. “They have all shown huge improvement since last year.”

Katie Starnes had the high series of 357 (138, 219) while Kathryn Wilson had a single game of 204. Starnes had 6 strikes in a row during the second game when she had 219.

The Lady Falcons are 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the SCOL.

Josie Wolfe had 143 and 177; Gwen Broderick 158, 135; and Casey Cochran 110, 127.

The Massie girls had Baker games of 169, 117 and 151.

For the boys, David Poynter had a 378 series (194 and 184) while Jacob Wellman had 362 (211, 151). Joey Marburger scored 137 an 152 while Corey Potts had 147 and 127.

The boys had Baker games of 166, 190 and 196.
