The Clinton County Solid Waste Management District recently awarded a 2019 PEAR Grant to Blanchester Middle School in support of its school-wide recycling program.
Funds received through the grant will be used to offset expenses associated with hauling collected recyclables to an area processing facility. The program will be overseen by eighth-grade science teacher Julia Perry and the school’s Recycling Team, consisting of student volunteers.
Annual PEAR Grants — which stands for Promoting Environmental Awareness and Recycling — are available to any public or private school located in Clinton County wishing to further educate and involve students in recycling, litter prevention, or waste-reduction initiatives.
