Jefferson Jets visit The Laurels

0

Members of the Jefferson Jets 4-H Club gathered on a recent Saturday morning at The Laurels of Blanchester. The members brought the residents individually potted pansies for their rooms, and many members also brought their animals to visit the residents.

The Laurels of Blanchester is a 50-bed nursing and rehabilitation center that provides care for both short-term guests and extended-stay residents.

The 4-H club has been meeting bi-weekly since February. The club, led by advisor Vickie Wagner, has a wide range of projects — from scrapbooking to beef.

The club has several Cloverbud members. The Cloverbud program is for children age 5 who are in kindergarten to the age of 8 and in the third grade.

Nicholas and Jacob Lansing and Hannah Gaines, members of the Jefferson Jets, serve on the Clinton County Junior Fair Board.

Club members will be working with their projects, participating in judgings, quality assurance training and skillathons, as well as taking part in the Clinton County 2019 Fair scheduled for Saturday, July 6 through Saturday, July 13.

Many of the Jefferson Jets 4-H Club members will participate in 4-H Camp this summer. Cloverbud Camp will be May 29 and 30, and Junior Camp will be June 3 to 7.
