The Clinton Soil & Water Conservation District will host its 73rd Annual Meeting & Banquet on Thursday, Aug. 29 at the Wilmington College Center for Science and Agriculture.
The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with the election for the Board of Supervisors as well as a general meet-and-greet. There are two candidates running for one position on the board.
Potential candidates must be at least 18 years old and reside in Clinton County. Once elected, supervisors will serve a three-year term.
The dinner will begin promptly at 6 p.m. and is being catered by Sams Meats. The cost for a dinner ticket is $12. Reserve tickets are recommended and can be obtained by prepaying by mail or in person at the Soil & Water office.
The election for Board of Supervisors will run concurrently until 6:30 p.m. At that time the “Cooperator of the Year” will be announced, as will the 2019 Coblentz scholarship winners and the results of the election.
Dale Minyo will begin his presentation at 7: p.m. and he’ll discuss various hot topics in Agriculture today.
The Ag presentation portion of the meeting is free and open to the public.
