Clinton County A.C.T. (Alliance for Compassion and Truth) will sponsor a local “We the People” event, on Saturday, Sept. 21 in downtown Wilmington, to coincide with the main march that day, in Washington, D.C. and other nationwide “We the People” solidarity gatherings.

Open to the public, the local event will be from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the corner of Main and South Streets, by the Clinton County Courthouse. Participants are encouraged to express their aspirations for American democracy with signs reflecting the issues that they care about.

Activities at the rally will include voter registration and collecting messages to lawmakers.

The mission of the national “We the People March” is “to remind elected officials that they work for us” and to encourage constituents to participate in peaceful assemblies to express their commitment to citizen involvement.
