Municipal court judge hands down sentences; thefts bring jail terms

The following report is compiled using a disposition report provided by Clinton County Municipal Court. The information includes the defendant’s name, age, residence if listed, charge(s) disposed, fine, court costs assessed, jail sentence and any special conditions. Municipal Judge Mike Daugherty oversees the court, which administers the law in criminal misdemeanor cases.

The following list includes those who pled guilty or were found guilty between Dec. 30, 2019 and Jan. 2, 2020:

• Daniel Decker, 38, theft, sentenced to 180 days in jail, fined $1,000, assessed $135 court costs. Decker must have no contact with the victim, write a letter of apology, and pay $879.50 in restitution. A second theft charge was dismissed.

• Bradley Blackburn, 24, theft, sentenced to 180 days in jail, fined $1,000, assessed $135 court costs. Blackburn was immediately remanded to the jail. The court docket indicates, Blackburn was on probation for another case. Blackburn was ordered to immediately report to the probation department.

• Andrew Jones, 27, of Westboro, unauthorized use of property, fined $250, assessed $135 court costs. The offense was amended from a receiving stolen property charge. The license plate was seized and forfeited over to the Blanchester Police Department.

• Brett Laymon III, 42, of Bowersville, driving under suspension-financial, fined $250, assessed $135 court costs. Additional charges of driving under suspension-failing to appear/pay fine and driving under suspension-failing to reinstate were dismissed.

• Hayley Henry, 27, of Monessen, going 100 in a 70 mph speed zone, fined $105, assessed $125 court costs. The case was waived by Henry.

• Caleb Caplinger, 23, of Wilmington, drug possession, fined $100, assessed $135 court costs. The case was waived by Caplinger.

• Joshua Bailey, 33, of Blanchester, drug paraphernalia, fined $100, assessed $135 court costs. The case was waived by Bailey.

• Casey Keith, 33, of Blanchester, disorderly conduct, fined $65, assessed $135 court costs. The case was waived by Keith.

• Hunter Colon, 18, of Manchester, going 96 in a 70 mph speed zone, fined $105, assessed $135 court costs. The case was waived by Colon.
