Clinton County residents Lillian Traver, 7, and sister Kaileigh, 5, along with their mom adopted a young cat Sunday afternoon at the first adoption event of the PAWS Humane Society’s Pet Adoption Center at 5312 U.S. 68 North, Wilmington, where cats and dogs were available to adopt.

PAWS is a no-kill organization, and animals taken in by PAWS will be checked by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered and given necessary vaccines.

Adoptable cats and dogs may be seen on PAWS accounts on Facebook and Instagram and at www.petfinder.com . To contact PAWS, please email [email protected] .
