A News Journal reader and big fan of actor James Drury noticed that the Associated Press’ daily feature “Today in History” list of birthdays April 18 stated Drury turned 86 that day when in fact he died earlier in the month. Drury is best known as playing the title character of the NBC western series “The Virginian” that ran for nine seasons. He died April 6 of natural causes.
