Wilmington FFA hosts Greenhand Night

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington FFA Chapter held its annual Greenhand Night on September 1, welcoming over 20 new FFA members to the school.

Greenhand Night is meant to welcome new FFA members and their families to learn about all the opportunities FFA has to offer. Ms. Cooper and her Officer Team introduced the new members and their families to what it means to be an FFA member and all the different aspects of the program.

Ms. Cooper and Emma Bryant taught the members about the classroom aspect and what you do in the classroom.

Courtney Parker and Jaden Snyder spoke about what an SAE is and they shared their SAEs and all their achievements.

Devon Snyder and Kyle Bryant spoke on the FFA aspect of the program. They also spoke about their experiences with CDEs and different trips our chapter have gone on, such as the Farm Science Review which is coming up this month.

Jess Seward and Dylan Piatt taught the members about proper official dress, and members played a game for them to learn proper official dress.

To wrap up the night, the Greenhand members were painted their hands and placed them on the wall to show they are a Greenhand.

The Wilmington FFA Chapter is excited for the upcoming school year and to add these new members to our membership roster.
