COWAN LAKE STATE PARK— Local first responders and their equipment were at a fun and informational Safety Day event held at the Cowan Lake State Park Campgrounds on Saturday.

Many first responders were on hand showing the park guests the services that they provide for the community. The MedFlight helicopter flew in and was very popular with the kids. The Friends Caring for Cowan Lake State Park cabin was open and providing snow cones and cotton candy.

Over $900 was donated by park guests at the event. These funds will be used for future programs and projects at the park.
