The class composite was displayed along with a black cap and gown, orange and black 1982 numbers, and lighted up ’82 numbers. On the tables were vases with the class senior pictures on them. The vases were made by Shelly Conner Williamson.
On Saturday, August 6, the class gathered for a lunch and dinner at McCoy’s Catering on Gurneyville Road in Wilmington. The tables had the vases with the class senior pictures on them, candle holders with senior pictures from the yearbook and a black wire basket with mints. These vases and candle holders were also made by Shelly Conner Williamson.
One table had our junior high and high school yearbooks, basketball and football programs from our high school years, newspaper clippings of our deceased classmates and school personnel, along with the black and orange 1982 numbers. Another table had the lighted up ’82 numbers, a Wilmington Hurricane pullover jacket and a black wire basket with mints.
A memorial table was setup by Brenda Hayslip Cox with our class composite, a candle lit by each deceased classmate’s name placard, a black table cloth, a black candle in a vase with orange lights and orange lights across the back in front of the class composite, and a sign with in memory of those who could not be there.
We honored 27 deceased classmates and were told of a 28th deceased classmate at our reunion.
We also honored classmates that were in the military or retired from the military. The Class of 1982 is grateful for our class members and all those who have served or are serving in the military.
A good time was had by all attending. We had MusiqmanEnt Djmrkeyz as our DJ for the evening. A variety of music was played, but the good ’80s music was played the most.
Those present would like to have a 45th class reunion and would love to see more of our class members attend.
