All-day event benefits Stepping Stones

WILMINGTON – There will be an all-day family event at the Elks Lodge Saturday.

The event, which starts at 8 a.m. with a golf outing, is hosted by Stepping Stones Ranch and all money raised will go to the ranch, a girls home that offers equine therapy and which was created by Dar Henley and Danielle Combs.

The event is free to the community; food and drinks, which will start to be served at 11 a.m., must be purchased.

At noon, “Princess Elsa” from the movie “Frozen” will be at the Elks Lodge to do a meet and greet with all kids.

At 1 p.m., the police and fire departments will be be at the event with police cruisers and fire trucks for kids to explore. There will also be corn hole and soccer games for kids.

Live music will begin at 4 p.m. out on the lawn of the Elks Lodge. Hog Head Blues will play from 4-8 p.m. Richard Lynch will play from 9 p.m. to midnight.

The event is rain or shine. If it rains, everything will be moved inside the Elks Lodge.
