WILMINGTON — A Clinton County man has been charged with making a false report to police after authorities say he made up a story Nov. 7 about another man holding a gun to his head and committing aggravated robbery.

Police say that on Nov. 7 Allen Mobley, 23, called police to the 4800 block of State Route 350 in Clarksville and reported that between 2 and 3 a.m. a male subject held a gun to his head and forced him to give up items including two vehicles, a video game console with games and controllers, and a cell phone. The victim also reported that the suspect punched him in the face, police said.

Clinton County Sheriff’s Col. Brian Prickett told the News Journal Friday that Mobley “admitted to lying about the robbery” and that he has been “arrested and incarcerated for making false reports.”
