Self grad of USAFNG basic

U.S. Air Force National Guard Airman 1st Class Lyla Self graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Self is the daughter of Brian N. Self of Wilmington and she is a 2017 graduate of Wilmington High School.

EC twins on dean’s lists

Carrie and Hannah Pickering, both 2017 East Clinton graduates, made the spring dean’s list at their respective colleges.

Carrie is majoring in physical therapy and kinesiology at Miami University. Hannah is majoring in political science at Capital University.

Van Pelt Road to be closed

Van Pelt Road will be closed for bridge maintenance for approximately four days beginning Monday, July 2, weather permitting, according to the Clinton County Engineer’s Office.

The bridge is between SR 72 and Larrick Road in Wayne Township. The last address accessible from the east (SR 72) is 435 Van Pelt Road. There are no addresses between Larrick Road and the bridge.
