Clinton County Board of Developmental Disabilities honored local employers at its annual Employer Appreciation Luncheon held in August.

Employers participating in supporting the board’s mission to inspire people of all abilities, to embrace the pursuit of self-advocacy, choice, and integration through providing employment opportunities, were honored at the luncheon.

Employer of the Year was Sodexo at Wilmington College.

The management team and employees at Sodexo have provided employment and work experience opportunities for several people throughout the year. Sodexo has excelled in providing a supportive work environment allowing people to work without the need of external supports to participate in the workforce.

Vision Media was named Student Advocate of the Year.

Vision Media hosted over 20 high school students for work experiences this past year, allowing the students to earn a paycheck and gain meaningful work experience. Vision Media’s participation allowed students to gain experience and knowledge in the area of marketing.
