Some good, ‘clean‘ fun as WC homecoming weekend is underway

WILMINGTON — Wilmington College has opened up many homecoming activities to the public this year. And those events got underway Thursday evening with the tradition student mud volleyball tournament followed by a pep rally in the lower fields as the football team gets set to host Muskingum on Saturday.

This year’s Homecoming, Alumni Reunion Weekend and Family Weekend has been combined into one big, festive and event-packed Saturday, Sept. 22.

With an expectation of breaking all homecoming attendance records the College is making a special effort in welcoming the community to join alumni, students, parents, faculty and staff in the celebration.

Homecoming on Saturday will feature such family-friendly activities as horse-drawn wagon rides, an inflatable game park, a food truck rally, music featuring a live DJ, Homecoming Court pageantry and, of course, a variety of Fightin’ Quaker sports.

WC alum and “WKRP in Cincinnati” star Gary Sandy will even be part of the festivities on Saturday.

The full schedule of events is at www.wilmington.edu/homecoming/schedule/ .
