They drive us crazy. They eat up and chew up everything and track mud through the house. We clean up after them and attempt to train them.
We spoil them rotten — yet they try to escape.
But they love us unconditionally. Or at least when we have a treat, a bone, a table scrap, or when we say, “Wanna go bye-bye?!”
They are man’s, and woman’s, and kids’ best friends — our dogs.
As the saying goes, “Everyone thinks they have the best dog. And none of them are wrong.”
As part of National Dog Week the last full week of September, the News Journal asked our readers to share via Facebook photos of themselves with their four-legged friends/family members. We got a great response, in just three days receiving over 180 photos, plus few heartwarming stories. Thank you!
On this page as well as inside are just a few of those photos of dogs with their humans. Please visit wnewsj.com or our Facebook page to see many more.
Also, on Page 4 you’ll find a special column for dog lovers everywhere.
Many of those who submitted photos pointed out that theirs were rescue dogs.
