The Clinton-Massie Branch of the Wilmington Public Library welcomes Kat McKay as its new manager.

The branch re-opened in 2011 and operates out of the high school at Clinton-Massie Local Schools. McKay first started working at the library in 2011 as a circulation associate.

A native of Wilmington, McKay has a fine arts degree from Wright State University and attended graduate school at Syracuse University for photography. She continues to remain active in both fields and tries to bring a touch of each into her new role.

McKay has initiated many different library programs, including Chapter Kids, Art Journaling, and Mysteries at Massie. She is looking forward to bringing more innovative ideas into the library and working with the schools to better serve the community.

“The school has been absolutely wonderful in welcoming the library and working with us to better accommodate the students and the public,” said McKay. “We’re hoping to continue the close relationship for many years to come and we’re really enthusiastic, not only about engaging the students, but also in providing great resources for them and the public to utilize.”

The library is open to the public Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
