Fearful for future victims of war

0

I have been remembering the Iraq war and its impact on the Middle East and the world. A war based on lies that Iraq had nuclear weapons. I have been thinking of the over 4,000 of our young men and women who died in that war. I also think of my friends who fought in that war and are suffering from PTSD, but also of Gold Star parents I know who are mourning their sons who were killed.

Are we now going into a war based on similar falsehoods? I fear for the thousand of young soldiers leaving for the Middle East and their families fearful back here at home. I also think of the people of Iraq and Iran who must also be fearful of a possible war with the U.S. and the consequences for their countries.

It is not the ordinary people who start wars, but they are the ones who bear the brunt of them.
