Clinton Countians show their generosity

The Salvation Army locally raised $11,182.92 during their Red Kettle Campaign, and all the money is kept in Clinton County to support local programs to aid those in need. The funds will be available at Clinton County Community Action on Nelson Avenue.

Thank you to Kroger in Wilmington for allowing us to use their facility; without this, we could not have accomplished all that we did.

The 85 bell ringers started the Friday after Thanksgiving and ran through Christmas Eve; churches involved were Wilmington United Methodist, Church of Christ, Assembly of God, St. Columbkille Catholic, First Christian, Immanuel Baptist, Wilmington Lutheran Mission, First Baptist, Wilmington Friends Meeting and Bible Missionary Baptist.

A special thank you to co-chairs Polly Countryman and Carol Williams for this event. Also, a big thank you to Paul and Linda Eichelberger of Wilmington Lutheran Mission Church, who set up and took down the kettle equipment, plus checked every two hours for the presence of the bell ringers.

Thank you to all Clinton County residents, who are very caring people and made this a huge success. We are all helping to do our god’s work for those in our county in need.
