MT. ORAB — Led by Sophie Huffman and Taylor Noszka, Wilmington was an easy winner Monday in the Western Brown Invitational track and field meet at Kibler Stadium.
Blanchester finished seventh overall. Blanchester’s best finish came in the 300-meter hurdles where Aubrey Stevens was fourth in 57.54.
Hurricane athletes took first in nine events, with Huffman and Noszka winning two individual events each.
Huffman won the 100-meter dash (13.74) and the 200-meter dash (28.35). She edged teammate Chloe Suton in the 200 by less than a quarter second. Huffman also was second in the 400-meter dash.
Noskza pulled off the mid-distance double, claiming first in the 800 (2:37.76) and the 1,600 (5:38.67).
Brynn Bryant (4-10) won the high jump, Kaitlynn Hickey won the shot put (33-7.5) and Taliah Billingsley won the 100-meter hurdles (17.89).
Wilmington won the 4×400 and 4×100 relay events as well.
