Quakers split twinbill with Bishops

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington College softball team split a twinbill with Ohio Wesleyan University Wednesday, losing game one 4-1 and winning the nightcap 6-2.

Bailey Hypes had a sacrifice fly in the first game for Wilmington’s only run against Katie Chittum. Izzy Rothrock (2-8), Hillary Huffer and Hannah Hall pitched for Wilmington. Lizz Hadley had two hits for the Quakers.

In the nightcap, Lindsey Carter and Judaea Wilson had sac flies for a 2-0 WC lead. Kylah Morrison and Wilson then added RBI doubles in the sixth to give WC the win.

Alexis Stringfellow won her fifth game of the year with six strong innings. Carter pitched the seventh.

At the plate, Wilson had two hits and two RBI. Carter also had two hits to go along with one RBI. McKenna Archey and Rachel Berry had two hits as well.

The Quakers return to OAC play against Heidelberg University 1 p.m. Saturday for Senior Day
