Simon Heys has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for the second time in three weeks.

The Quakers have started the season 3-for-3 on the award as Noah Tobin claimed it last week. This is Heys’ sixth time in his WC career to earn the award.

After taking a week off last week, Heys was back up and running away with the honor after a third-place finish at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships. The junior ran 24:22 in the 8,000-meter run and was the first Division III athlete across the line. Heys adds to his collection, with the time being the fastest ever by a Division III athlete on the Cedarville 8,000-meter course.

“Simon was able to help us do something we have never done,” WC head coach Ron Combs said. “The eighth-place finish at All-Ohio was the best team finish in school history at this illustrious event.”

The Quakers are back on the road again at the end of the month as they head to Lansing, Mich. for Pre-Nationals, a race Heys won last year.
