WC baseball loses to by identical 9-4 scores

TIFFIN – By identical 9-4 margins, the Wilmington College baseball team lost a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference games to Heidelberg Sunday afternoon.

Wilmington (7-27) hosts Miami University-Hamilton Wednesday at Tewksbury-Delaney Field.

Jared Ferenchak surrendered three runs to Heidelberg in the first and two in the second. WC chipped away on RBIs by Gage Bley, Kasey Bottorff and Antonio Miller. However the Student Princes pulled away again for the win.

Jacob Griewahn pitched well in relief, striking out three in the final four innings for Wilmington.

Bley, Bottorff and Gavin Perkins had two hits and two runs scored each for Wilmington. Miller and Nick Silvis had stolen bases.

In the second game, Bley gave WC a 1-0 lead but Heidelberg bounced back to take a 5-1 advantage. Mason Walker scored on a wild pitch in the seventh and Miller added an RBI-double in the ninth.

Lance Fleischman took the loss allowing five earned runs in three innings. Jarett Trautman allowed three earned runs in the middle three innings while Bryant McCarty pitched the final two innings without allowing a run.

Bley, Silvis, Walker and Luke Kleindl all finished 2-for-4 for WC.
