Golf, corn hole at Elks Lodge 797 to benefit Davis family

For the benefit of the Davis family, the Wilmington Elks Lodge 797 will hold golf and corn hole tournaments July 20 on the lodge property, 2541 Rombach Ave.

A Holmes Elementary School teacher, Ashley Davis of New Vienna was driving an SUV with her three daughters in the vehicle on May 28 when it was T-boned by a car. In all, nine people were hurt in the two vehicles, according to police. Ashley Davis sustained several injuries and remains in Miami Valley Hospital.

The corn hole tournament will begin at 8 p.m. Cost for the double elimination event is $20. Fifty percent of all money goes to the Davis family. For information contact Bub Griffith at 937-725-9478.

For the golf tournament, there will be two waves, both shotgun starts – 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. According to Tim Hill of the Elks 797 Golf Course, the 8 a.m. shotgun start has a first-come, first-serve sign-up.

Lunch – hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips – for golfers in either wave will be Noon to 1:30 p.m. Cost for the outing is $240 per four-player team. An optional $20 skins game also will be available. There is a $500 cash prize for first place in the golf tournament.

Hole sponsors are $75, cart sponsors are $100 and tournament sponsors are $300 which includes a team entry and hole sponsorship.
