BHS puts up good defensive effort in 3-0 loss

BLANCHESTER – Clermont Northeastern defeated Blanchester 3-0 Thursday in SBAAC National Division girls soccer action at Barbour Memorial Field.

Blanchester is 2-9 on the year, 2-7 in the National Division.

Clermont Northeastern is 7-3-3 in all matches, 5-1-2 in the conference.

The Ladycats gave up early goals in each half but otherwise played well defensively coach Kurt Ballinger said.

Emma Winemiller was “everywhere” on defense, said Ballinger. Bri Haun, Lana Roy and Kyra Renick played well in the midfield while Emma Case and Olivia Potts were solid in the defensive third.

Lacie Tedrick made 17 saves in goal for Blancheser.
