GOSHEN — The Blanchester football team went toe to toe with the Goshen Warriors Friday night but came up on the short end of a 37-0 score in the King of the Road game at Jim Brown Stadium.
Goshen took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, blocking a punt for a touchdown and then scoring on a long pass play late in the period.
The Warriors scored a touchdown in the third to go up 21-0 then added two more touchdowns in the final period.
The loss puts the Wildcats at 1-4 on the year. Goshen is 3-2.
The Warriors have won five straight games in this State Route 28 rivalry. The last Blanchester win was a 30-7 triumph in 2014.
Goshen head coach Greg Miller is a Clinton-Massie High School graduate.
Blanchester will begin SBAAC National Division play against Clermont Northeastern 7 p.m. Oct.4 at Barbour Memorial Field on the BHS campus.
