WILMINGTON — The East Clinton bowling teams dropped matches Wednesday to Clinton-Massie and Greeneview at Royal Z Lanes.

The EC girls were down a starter, coach Joe Davis said, but battled to the end.

“We dug an early hole and could not dig ourselves out,” said Davis.

August Morgan had games of 153 and 150 while Josie Runk had a 123. Davis said newcomer Heather Gilliland bowled well, stepping in to the baker round and giving the team a boost. EC had baker games of 140, 138, 133. Davis noted the East Clinton baker games were the best of the trio of teams on hand.

On the boys side, EC coach Dale Wallace had a 200 game from Patrick Dotson, a 183 by Freddy Morgan and a 183 by Grant Wisecup. Andy Gilliland had two 159 games.

Even though EC had a 201 baker game, it wasn’t enough and the Astros lost to the Falcons and Rams.
