The East Clinton volleyball held its first Serve-A-Thon March 20 at the EC gym.

The event was held to raise money for a customized net system for the volleyball team. The goal was $3,000, coach Sarah Sodini said, but “the girls worked very hard to get pledges and donations and we ended up raising (more than) $5,000,” the coach added. The event was sponsored by the East Clinton Athletic Boosters.

There were prizes awarded to those who raised the most money and those who had the best service percentage. Prizes were donated by coach Bob Malone, coach Katie Rupp and Janielle Runyon with Salon Mane.

Players who participated were Liz Schiff, Megan Hadley, Megan Tong, Aubrie Simpson, Jordan Collom, Lauren Runyon, Libby Evanshine, Kami Whiteaker, Ava Mess, Sydney Beiting, Isabel Creek, Hadlie Clark, Makayla Seaman, Lydia Kessler, Cadence Howard, Jozie Jones, Trinity Bain.

Fundraising winners were Kami Whiteaker, Libby Evanshine, Lauren Runyon and Jordan Collom. Evanshine and Kessler both served at 98 percent.
