Drake powers Falcons to 8-6 win over Warriors

ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Kayla Drake drove in five runs as Clinton-Massie defeated Goshen 8-6 Friday in SBAAC American Division play at CMHS.

“It was good to get the win and we’re proud of the girls for bouncing back after a couple hard losses earlier in the week,” Massie head coach Matt Doyle said.

Massie lost to New Richmond 5-0 Monday and Williamsburg 4-0 Tuesday.

The Falcons are 3-2 overall, 2-1 in the division. Goshen drops to 3-3 overall, 0-3 in American action.

Doyle said every player in the lineup had at least one hit.

Drake had two hits, with a homerun, to pace the offense. Kiera Brightman had three hits, including a solo homerun. Delaney Schneder had two hits, including a ground-rule double.

In the cirlce, Brightman picked up the win with 10 strikeouts.
