50 tops field in Habitat for Humanity golf outing

The team of Chad McLees, Jeremy McGraw, Kyle Miller and Bryce Bean won the Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County golf scramble July 30 at Snow Hill Golf Course.

The winners, with a score of 50, received four rounds of golf and a cart at Snow Hill plus $100.

A record setting 26 teams participated this year representing a variety of businesses, organizations and individuals in the Clinton County area and surrounding counties.

The second place team, Welage Corporation, consisted of Bryan Welage, Bert Welage, David Welage and Buster Welage. They had a 52. They received four rounds of golf and a cart at Majestic Springs Golf Course plus four dozen golf balls.

Third place went to Chad Beam, Nikki Custis, Rodney Carruthers and Chip Phillips with a 55. They received four rounds of golf at the Elks 797 Golf Course.

The final team in the standings consisted of Tom Dreyer, Katie Anderson and teammates who received four dozen golf balls as a consolation prize.

Split the pot went to the Area Energy Electric Team who donated the money back to Habitat for Humanity.

Event Winners were Randall Davis – longest drive hole 3; Kyle Miller – longest drive hole 16; Chad Beam – longest putt made hole 18; Jerry Hickey, longest putt made hole 9; Chip Phillips – closest to pin hole 2; Jarett Patton – closest to the pin hole 12.

Raffle prizes were distributed to Chip Phillips, a one night stay at the Roberts Centre and breakfast; Alan Cowin, a one night stay at the Hampton Inn; Peter Aiello, one night stay at the Hampton Inn; James Kirk, Case IH Magnum Toy tractor, $15 gift card to Roasted in Blanchester, a 31-piece drive socket set and a golf hat; Dan Cannon, Vizio D-Series 40-inch television with 1080 full HD and a golf hat; Steve Powell, 45-piece mechanic’s tool set, Auto Zone bucket full of cleaning supplies, $50 Visa gift card and lottery ticket bouquet; Kirk Kirkendall, Ohio State waste basket, HFH Restore bucket, $50 Visa gift card, two drinking cups, golf hat, five cuzzies, one dozen golf balls, golf towel, T-shirt valued at $20 and hat from TSC; Denise Kassinos won four family jigsaw puzzles, free single topping large Donato’s Pizza, TSC hat, lottery ticket bouquet and $25 gift card to Hot Head Burrito’s; Kevin Croghan, a sign from Alma’s Attic, TSC hat, $20 Mediterranean gift card, five cuzzies, dozen golf balls, two drink cups and a golf towel; James Kirk, the tailgate party prize / barbeque basket, $25 gift card to Kava House and golf hat.

Snow Hill Golf Course provided a meal for those who attended.

Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County depends on the success of this event to provide affordable housing for deserving families in the community. Increased building supplies costs have challenged the Habitat building committee making any donations and outside assistance so very welcome to build affordable, energy efficient homes for families who will join the tax paying community, according to a press release.
