Astros falter in 7th, fall 12-0 to Blue Lions

News Journal Report

LEES CREEK — The East Clinton baseball team fell apart in the seventh inning Monday and lost to Washington 12-0 in a South Central Ohio League game at ECHS.

The Astros are 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the SCOL.

“We need heart. We need to find some fight when we get behind. We started off with some errors but Cameron Conner fought back and threw a great 6 innings. He was able to throw the hitters off, get ahead and throw his off speed for any pitch. As a team we need to take the confidence with us to the plate in order to be successful. In the 7th we couldn’t find the strike zone and errors defensively snowballed into them scoring 7.
