WILLIAMSBURG — Unbeaten Williamsburg defeated Blanchester 5-0 Thursday in a Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division showdown at WHS.

Both teams were unbeaten in National Division play going into the game.

Williamsburg is now 12-0 overall and 5-0 in the league. Blanchester is 6-6 overall and 4-1 in the SBCN.

“To beat a team like Williamsburg, you pretty much have to play a perfect game defensively and find a way to manufacturer a run or two; we did not do either one of those tonight,” BHS coach Jamey Grogg said. “The effort and energy was there, we just didn’t execute the way we did Monday.”

Blanchester, at Norwood on Friday, did not have a hit in the game and struck out 15 times.
