WILMINGTON — Courtney Smart dominated Hillsboro with a no-hitter Tuesday as Wilmington breezed to a 16-0 win in South Central Ohio League softball action at the WHS diamond.
The win puts WHS at 9-8 overall and 7-4 in the SCOL.
Smart faced 15 Hillsboro hitters and threw just 47 pitches, 33 of them for strikes. She went to a three-ball count on just two batters.
Smart retired the first 10 batters she faced. The Lady Indians had just one baserunner, who reached on an error with one out in the fourth.
Offensively, Olivia Veidt had two hits and drove in five runs. Lyla Self had three hits and three RBI. Kathryn Hardin scored four runs. Sophie Blessing stole three bases.
