Massie JV volleyball blasts Blan in 2

BLANCHESTER – The Clinton-Massie reserve volleyball team defeated Blanchester 25-7, 25-19 Monday in a non-league match at the gym.

The Lady Falcons, 14-1 on the year, served well with very few errors, coach Aubrey Hoffman said.

Kennedy Thompson had five points, an ace and 15 assists. Abbey Faucett had three points, six kills and five digs. Carly Moritz finished with nine points, four aces, four kills and five digs. Delaney Miller had five points, six kills and two digs. Abby George recorded four points, an ace and two digs.

On Saturday, the Lady Falcons lost their first match of the season to Washington Senior 16-25, 27-29. Massie defeated Paint Valley 25-13, 25-17.

“Due to players being pulled to varsity we were left with six players,” Hoffman said. “These girls played their hearts out, given the situation. I could not be more proud of their efforts. They really pulled together as a team. It’s hard to make last minute adjustments with low numbers but they did it.”

Thompson had nine points, two aces, 15 assists and a kill. Faucett finished with nine points, two aces, 15 assists and a kill. Miller had six points, seven kills, two digs and a block. Abby George recorded four service points while Courtney Fisher had 12 points, a kill and a dig. Hayley Roberts had three points, two kills and two digs for Massie.
