Ostermeier matches shutout mark in BHS 6-0 win

FAYETTEVILLE – Regan Ostermeier tied the school record for shutouts as Blanchester defeated Fayetteville-Perry 6-0 Thursday in non-league girls soccer action.

Ostermeier posted the 16th shutout of her career, matching the school record held by Ana Hosler.

Ostermeier also scored her first career goal and had an assist off a punt during the match.

Blanchester (5-7-2 on the year) held a 27-3 advantage in shots. Ostermeier now has 110 saves for the year.

Sierra Drake took the Ostermeier punt and beat everyone to the net for a 1-0 Blanchester lead, coach Kurt Ballinger said. Emily Hinkle offered a corner kick that the Rockets played into an own goal for a 2-0 BHS advantage.

Tatum Kirby assisted on a Hinkle goal as the Ladycats took a 3-0 into the break.

In the second half, Blanchester goals were Drake from Taylor McQuitty; Hinkle unassisted; and Ostermeier. For Drake the goals were her 14th and 15th of the season.
