Wilmington College junior Mackenzie Campbell has earned preseason All-America honors from DIII News.

Campbell, a product of Turpin High School, returns for her junior season needing 169 points to become the 15th player in school history to eclipse the 1,000-point barrier. She was a first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection last season, and is only the second Wilmington sophomore to earn such recognition.

She was second in the conference in scoring with 15.9 points per game. Her 50.3 percent accuracy from the field was tops amongst OAC guards and fourth in the league overall. Campbell was second on the team with 5.9 rebounds and added 1.7 assists per game.

Wilmington kicks off the 2017-18 season, hosting Mary Baldwin in the opening game of the Damon’s/Hampton Inn Tip-Off Tournament.
