The Blanchester eighth grade girls basketball team defeated East Clinton 28-24 Monday night in the regular season finale.

Coach Gary Stanforth said the Ladycats (7-8 on the year) played hard and smart on offense and defense in the victory.

He noted the free throw shooting of Grace Irwin, Taylor Combs, Lacie Tedrick and Madison Creager who all were 100 percent at the line.

Combs finished with eight points, seven rebounds and an assist. Creager had six points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Irwin had four points and three steals while Tedrick had three points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal. Emma Winemiller had four points, three rebounds and two blocked shots.

Daelyn Staehling contributed two points, four rebounds and an assist. Aleah Wells grabbed a rebounded. Stanforth said Dallas Allen and Emmy Hodge played well for the Ladycats.
