CMMS boys first, girls second at Kings meet

KINGS MILLS – The Clinton-Massie Middle School boys and girls track and field teams split meets at Kings Tuesday.

The CM boys won nine events en route to a 69-54 win while the girls were defeated 74-49.

For the girls, Holly Young was first in the 100-meter hurdles (20.6), Abbey Steed was first in the 100-meter dash (15.1), Josefine Majdoch was first in the 200-meter hurdles (37.4) and the 400-meter dash (1:14) and Kylee Lamb was first in the 200-meter dash (30.0).

The Lady Falcons won two relays – Breckin Harner, Ella Mefford, Abby Broglin and Holly Young in the 4×200 (2:10) and Ashley Doyle, Josefine Majdoch, Abby Broglin and Kylee Lamb in the 4×100 (59.1).

Runnerup finishes for CM were Young in the 200-meter hurdles, Doyle in the high jump, McKinley Hale in the shot put, Megan Thatcher in the discus and the 4×400-meter relay of Majdoch, Kaden Kimple, Lamb and Doyle.

For the boys, Garrett Newkirk was first in the 110-meter hurdles (21.8) and the 200-meter hurdles (33.9), Carter Frank won the 100-meter dash (13.1) and the long jump (14-6.25), the 4×200-meter relay team of Joey Vance, Gavin Avey, Bradon Rolf and Garrett Newkirk (2:04.9), the 4×400-meter relay team of Will Tidwell, Luke Lentine, Miley Powell and Braydon Greene (4:53), Bradon Rolf in the pole vault (7-0), Colin Swope in the shot put (32-4) and the discus (86-6)

Runnerup finishes were Richie Federle in the 100-meter dash, Rylie Pelcha in the 200-meter hurdles, Carter Frank in the 200-meter dash 26.0, Miley Powell in the long jump, Ethan Williams in the shot put.
