The first round of the Major League Baseball Junior Home Run Derby will be held 1 p.m. April 7 at the Rotary Diamond at J. W. Denver Williams Jr. Memorial Park.

Boys and girls will be divided into two age groups – 12U and 14U – and will have the opportunity to advance through three levels of competition. The local winner in each age group will move on to the regional level and then the regional champions will compete in the national finals during MLB All-Star Week.

All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and have a parent or guardian complete a registration/waiver form prior to beginning competition.
