Clinton-Massie will face an uphill battle in its quest for SBAAC American Division volleyball supremacy this season.
But head coach Stephanie Reveal will have plenty of players to choose from in 2018. There are five returning starters and 10 returning letterwinners for the Lady Falcons. The 12th-year varsity head coach likes her squad’s roster depth.
In 2017, Clinton-Massie finished 9-13 overall and 4-6 in the American Division. The Lady Falcons were a distant fourth place behind unbeaten league champion Western Brown.
Three of the returning starters for CM earned All-SBAAC recognition a year ago.
Rylee Richardson was a first team pick and Tyler Greathouse earned second team honors. Haley Conley was given honorable mention.
Other top players returning include Taylor Florea, Cadin Reveal, Maddie Enright and Faith Cottrell.
Clinton-Massie lost two players from last year’s squad, Ashlie Miller and Kristen Hillman.
In her 17th season of coaching volleyball at CMHS, Reveal will be assisted by Stacey Conley, Marlee Richardson, Brianna Machado at the high school level and Karli Brogan (7th grade) and Sarah Williams (8th grade) at the middle school level.
Reveal said her squad must work on its passing and foot speed to be competitive.
Western Brown and Goshen in the American Division and East Clinton in the National Division are Reveal’s selection as pre-season league favorites.
