BHS tennis clips Cardinals 4-1

FELICITY – Though wins have been hard to come by this season, the Blanchester High School girls tennis team has had one consistent factor throughout the year.

“The one thing that has not changed is the level of effort,” BHS coach Matt Sexton said. “My girls have worked hard everyday, with a great attitude, win or lose. So I am so happy that we got this win. Like I said last time when we played Felicity – Tennis is a meritocracy. This time, we earned the win.”

Leading the charge for BHS was Lydia Falgner, who rallied from a 1-4 third set deficit to post a 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 win at third singles.

“So proud of those singles girls who have battled all year long and led us to victory. They showed a lot of guts,” Sexton said. “Credit to Felicity as well, as they are still missing their outstanding first singles player. Their girls have stepped up and carried the team in her absence. We found a way to get by them.”

Kayla Allen and Lexie Winemiller also posted singles wins while Taylor Bradley and Madie Ogden were second doubles winners.
