East Clinton falls to CNE in National volleyball

LEES CREEK – Clermont Northeastern put out a strong defensive effort in a 13-25, 25-23, 13-25, 23-25 win over East Clinton Monday night in SBAAC National Division volleyball action at the EC gym.

“We had a lot of hitting and service errors,” EC coach Sarah Sodini said. “The first and third games we could not serve receive. The girls gave it all their efforts but we couldn’t finish. CNE played great defense.”

The Lady Astros defensive effort was led by Kenzie Campbell who had 13 digs, Lacey Peterman who came up with 12 and Myah Jones who had 10.

Campbell finished with two aces, 10 kills, two blocks and an assist. Peterman had two kills and 13 assists. Jones totaled an ace, four kills and seven assists.

Rhylee Luttrell had eight digs and Miranda Beener finished with two. Megan Stewart had a kill, an assist, a dig and two blocks. Emma Malone posted an ace, an assist and six digs. Kiya Byrd had two kills and three digs. Kait Durbin had seven aces, six kills and seven digs.
