WILMINGTON – With a pair of easy victories, the Wilmington High School girls tennis team claimed the SBAAC American Division championship Monday afternoon.

Wilmington defeated Batavia 5-0 in two matches to wrap up the regular season schedule.

“Very fitting that we clinched the championship on Senior Night,” WHS coach Doug Cooper said. “They were extremely focused on winning the conference all season long. All of our seniors won their brackets in the SBAAC tournament. They deserve a lot of credit.”

Cooper said eight players won varsity conference matches to help Wilmington claim the team title.

“It was a total team effort,” he said.
