WILMINGTON – Mya Jackson poured in 20 points in just three quarters to lead Wilmington to a 60-20 victory Thursday over county and Southern Buckeye Conference American Division rival Clinton-Massie.
Jackson’s eighth and ninth points, free throws at the 1:53 mark of the first quarter, moved her into sixth place on the Clinton County all-time basketball scoring list ahead of Port William’s Jack Haley.
By halftime, she had 14, which tied New Vienna’s Dean Cluxton for fifth place.
Her career total stands at 1,487. Fourth place on the list is Sabina’s Phil Snow at 1,830.
Sami McCord also reached double-figures for the Hurricane (3-0, 1-0) with 13.
Wilmington held Massie (0-2, 0-1) without a field goal in the first half to build a 32-3 margin.
Faith Cottrell, Patience Chowning and Kenzie Avery had four points each for the Falcons. Avery notched Massie’s first two field goals, at the 5:20 and :50 marks of the third quarter.
