The East Clinton Junior High School girls basketball teams split games with Mount Orab Monday night.

The eighth grade was a 39-24 winner. “Our defense was aggressive and attacking to start the game which allowed us to get some transition opportunities,” the EC coaches said. “This was a big win for our girls and they have put in a tremendous amount of hard work to get to where they are.”

Libby Evanshine had 18 points and nine rebounds.

Jayden Murphy added 12 points while Jozie Jones had seven points and 10 rebounds. Kami Whiteaker had two points and 11 rebounds. Hayleigh Perdue had 10 rebounds.

The seventh grade Lady Astros dropped a 30-21 decision. Lauren Runyon had 10 points for EC while Lilly Hoskins added eight.
