OWENSVILLE – With five players scoring six or more points, Clinton-Massie outlasted Clermont Northeastern 41-33 Saturday in an SBAAC Bud Phillips Scholarship crossover game at the CNE gym.

Both teams finish the regular season with 8-14 records.

Patience Chowning led Massie with nine points but Emily Ireland, McKenzie Avery and McKenna Crawford scored eight points each. Faith Cottrell had six points.

“CNE looked to shut down Faith and Patience and the rest of our girls stepped up for us,” CM coach Tim McGraw said. “Faith and Patience didn’t get as many shot attempts as we would’ve liked but they did a great job of getting others involved.”

Avery “played an all-around good game,” McGraw said.

“I thought defensively we played very well and made things difficult for them,” McGraw said. “Was nice to have contributions from everyone.”

McKenna Crawford and Ireland both “made big shots early” to get the Lady Falcons off to a good start, the CM coach said.
