Clinton-Massie hangs 70-57 loss on Carlisle

CARLISLE – Clinton-Massie put three players in double figures Saturday in a 70-57 win over Carlisle in non-league boys basketball action.

The Falcons, 16-3 on the year and champions of the SBAAC American Division, will play at Western Brown on Tuesday.

Griffin Laake led Massie with 21 points, 13 of them coming in the third period.

Zack Chowning had eight of his 15 points in a critical fourth quarter for the Falcons. Drew Settlemyre got Massie off to a good start with seven points in the opening frame. Massie led 17-7 after one. Settlemyre finished with 13 points.

Carlisle climbed back in to the game in the second period, outscoring CM 16-10 and making it a 27-23 game at halftime.

In the third, both teams found the scoring range and Massie was clinging to a 48-45 lead after three.

In the fourth, Chowning poured in eight points and Nate Baker came off the bench with six. Baker was 4 for 4 at the free throw line in the final period.

Clinton-Massie played again without Thomas Myers, suspended for violation of team rules.
