For the first time, the Clinton County Knights will play in the Special Olympics state basketball tournament.

With a win over Hamilton County on Saturday in the regional championship game, the Knights advanced to play Summit Board DD 8:30 p.m. March 22 at Heritage Middle School in Hilliard.

According to Knights coach Eddie Adkins, this is the first appearance for a Clinton County team in the Special Olympics state tournament.

“They played their best game of the year,” Adkins said of his squad against Hamilton. “They made the extra pass and put the team first. I am so proud of them.”

Jon Arrington led the Knights with 18 points but Adkins said “the Knights go contributions up and down its lineup.”

The state championship game is set for 2 p.m. March 23 at Memorial Middle School in Hilliard.

The Clinton County Knights will compete in the Special Olympics state basketball tournament later this month.
