Blan JH boys split pair with CNE

OWENSVILLE — The Blanchester Junior High School boys basketball teams split games with Clermont Northeastern Wednesday night.

The 8th grade squad held on to defeat the Rockets 47-43. The game was tied at halftime but Blanchester opened the second half with a 16-4 run.

Tanner Creager led the young Wildcats with 18 points and 9 steals.

Hunter Bare had a season-high 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Avin Whitaker had a solid all-around game with 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Kaleb Goodin had 3 points and 5 rebounds.

Cameron Skidmore and Jay Ashcraft had 2 points each while Jasper Damewood and Braden Roy had 1 point each for the Wildcats, now 2-1 on the year.

In the 7th grade game, Blanchester lost its first game of the year 39-37 to CNE.

Brayden Sipple led Blanchester with 24 points and 5 steals.

Trenton Czaika had 11 points and 8 rebounds. Kyle Hopkins had 7 rebounds. Brody Rice scored 2 points.
